As many gathered at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco to hear Steve Jobs discuss the new line of iPods and the details of Apple TV, Martin's unannounced appearance came as quite a surprise.

Trying to keep up with the Mac crowd, Martin introduced his new tune, saying, "This is a new song that we've been working on called 'Coldplay 2.6' and it has a lot of new features. It features seven different kinds of chords and even a new one that even our closest rivals have no idea about."

Along with "Wedding Bells," Martin also performed Coldplay's 2000 breakthrough song "Yellow" and a solo rendition of "Viva la Vida," which was featured in an iPod ad.

Coldplay fans might not get another chance to hear "Wedding Bells," however, as Martin said, "This could be the only time you ever hear it. It could go terribly wrong but we'll see what happens."

The new material will contain collaborations with former QOTSA member Alain Johannes and Mini Mansions, a side project of QOTSA's bassist Michael Shuman. Ipecac Recordings will release the re-issue in conjunction with Homme's Rekords Rekords.

A limited edition package, including a 180 gram double-gatefold, colored vinyl plus a CD and is due out on November 26. The CD only release drops on December 7.

Ever since the band went their separate ways in 2004, the members have been working hard collaborating with other artists, some of them even creating other bands. According to the DeLonge, however, that doesn't get them down.

"The band seems to have doubled or tripled in size since the breakup," he told Rock Radio. "It's explosive, it's electric - we don't need to do any work on it."

He added, "I feel like a little kid full of wonder. I can't comprehend the size of these shows. We're getting on better than we ever have, and there's a confidence there now. We love what we do and we know we do it pretty well."

DeLonge continued on to explain that the band's follow up to their self-titled 2003 release would sound like.

"The record will be very modern, relevant, fast and fun," he said. "It'll be a mixture of drum'n'bass, indie rock and stadium rock."

The band is currently on tour in the U.K. and Europe.

Slipknot has just confirmed that the band will soon be releasing a new album, even though they are choosing not to replace late bassist Paul Gray, who died earlier this year. "There will be another Slipknot record," drummer Joey Jordison told the Des Moines Register. He added, "We're still dealing with the passing of Paul, God rest his soul. "[But] Paul would never want us to not make another Slipknot record."

Slipknot has just confirmed that the band will soon be releasing a new album, even though they are choosing not to replace late bassist Paul Gray, who died earlier this year.

He added, "We're still dealing with the passing of Paul, God rest his soul. "[But] Paul would never want us to not make another Slipknot record."

On May 24, Gray died of an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers, the medical examiner reported. His body was found in a hotel in Urbandale, Iowa. Gray's widow gave birth to the couple's first child earlier this month.

"Life is definitely a lot more precious now," Jordison said. "Music right now, really, when I play it, it's like I'm playing it for all the people that I've lost . . . [Paul] was my musical soulmate."

The band plans on releasing a new concert DVD on September 28 called (Sic)nesses, which was recorded in front of a crowd of 80,000 fans at the 2009 Download festival in Leicestershire.

All the members of Slipknot say they refuse to replace Gray and will play the bass parts themselves.
