A new version of Rock Band featuring Green Day will be released later this year. Green Day: Rock Band is scheduled to be released on June 8 for Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will feature 47 songs from the group's catalog, including "Brain Stew," "Jaded," "Hitchin' a Ride," "American Idiot," "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

All tracks can be imported into Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and the soon-to-be-released Rock Band 3. There is an export fee of $9.99 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems.

The Rock Band standalone game for Wii systems will be sold for $49.99. The standalone game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be priced at $59.99, and Rock Band Plus for those systems will be $69.99.

English producer Steve Lillywhite has announced that he would like to replace American Idol judge Simon Cowell, who will not be returning to the show next year. The Morrisey, Rolling Stones and U2 producer, who is currently working on Evanescence's new album, told Billboard that he is the best option to "help America find the next Elvis Presley." He said, "I think I have the right credentials.

Switchfoot has confirmed a new string of tour dates in support of their current release, Hello Hurricane. The run will kick off on March 24 at the Merillat Sports Center in Adrian, Michigan, and run through an April 11 appearance alongside Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars and Silversun Pickups in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to their pending road dates, the group will also stop by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 17.

Switchfoot has confirmed a new string of tour dates in support of their current release, Hello Hurricane. The run will kick off on March 24 at the Merillat Sports Center in Adrian, Michigan, and run through an April 11 appearance alongside Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars and Silversun Pickups in Tucson, Arizona.

In addition to their pending road dates, the group will also stop by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 17 for a performance of their current single, "Mess of Me," which peaked at number 22 on the Billboard rock songs chart and number one on the Christian rock charts.

Following their spring U.S. dates, Switchfoot will head out on an international tour that will take them to Australia, Japan and the U.K.

Muse has reportedly joined the ever growing list of acts set to perform at this year's South By Southwest Musical Festival, which will kick off next week in Austin, Texas. Though the date has not yet been confirmed by the band's reps, multiple sources are reporting that the U.K. rockers will perform at Stubb's on Saturday, March 20. Other acts currently listed as performers for the annual event include Motörhead, Spoon and Band of Horses.

Muse is currently in the midst of a North American arena tour. The run kicked off back in February with a show in Atlanta.

According to drummer Dominic Howard, the band chose to start in Atlanta to "prove that [they're] not jinxed," after their last show there ended after about 30 seconds.

"I don't think we even got through the first song," Howard, told the Montreal Gazette. "I think we began with a track called 'Citizen Erased,' and Matt smashed his lip completely in two on the end of his guitar, and we were forced to cancel the show because he was just spitting blood all over the stage."
