The animal rights group PETA has recruited Dave Navarro to star in its latest ads. The Jane's Addiction guitarist is the latest celebrity to pose for the organization's anti-fur Ink Not Mink campaign. "Several years ago, I saw video footage of animals being skinned alive and screaming, and it honestly is the most horrific, inhumane thing I've ever seen - a dying, twitching, skinless animal in such terrified shock crying, screaming blood-curdling screams," he said in an interview.

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has recruited Dave Navarro to star in its latest ads. The Jane's Addiction guitarist is the latest celebrity to pose for the organization's anti-fur Ink Not Mink campaign.

"There was a time in my life where I would wear over-the-top outfits, and some of those outfits contained fur," Navarro reportedly said in a PETA interview.

His views have changed over the years, however, especially after seeing the way animals are skinned.

"Several years ago, I saw video footage of animals being skinned alive and screaming, and it honestly is the most horrific, inhumane thing I've ever seen - a dying, twitching, skinless animal in such terrified shock crying, screaming blood-curdling screams that are so hard to watch and listen to," he continued.

Navarro joins a roster of other celebrities who have posed for the latest PETA campaign, including Tommy Lee, Chester Bennington, Carey Hart and Jackass' Steve-O.

Kid Rock appeared in court last week to defend himself against assault charges stemming from an incident outside Los Angeles' Roosevelt Hotel in 2006. Michael Medlin, Jose Perez and Carlos Bonilla all claim that the singer said, "Who wants a piece of me next?" before kicking them and taking away their cameras. Medlin and Perez, both celebrity photographers, and Bonilla, who trades celebrity memorabilia, all claim they were assaulted after asking Rock for autographs.

"I wouldn't say something corny like that," the singer reportedly said on the witness stand. "It was kind of chaotic. There were cameras everywhere and people yelling."

Though Rock claims no wrong doing in the case, he was later found with one of the men's camera at his hotel. According to the singer, he didn't know how the camera got there but recalled saying, "Get rid of them, take them back to the hotel, call the police, whatever."

The court case is scheduled to continue.

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison will be the drummer for Rob Zombie on the upcoming Gruesome Twosome tour, which will feature both Zombie and Alice Cooper. The North America portion of the trek kicks off in Wyoming on May 5 and wraps up in Oklahoma City on August 14.
